The Wood Products We Build Last Longer!
Wood selected for building meets our critical standards for moisture content, natural oil content, minimum nominal dimensions, and also passes our tough grading system. This means our wood fences, gates and decks are more resistant to shrinking, cupping, splitting, decay, and even insect infestation.
Most people don’t like huge gaps in between their privacy fence pickets, and we don’t either. It has been our experience that much of the wood sold in the “Big Box” stores is too wet most of the time. When a fence panel is built with wood that is too wet, the pickets shrink as their moisture content decreases. This leaves unsightly gaps between the fence pickets and can cause them to split and cup prematurely. Unsightly gaps means less privacy.
Many of the “Big Box” stores and other local fence companies give less consideration to moisture content, true nominal dimensions, and picket grade than you may think. We believe this is because their focus is on one thing, “price.” We understand cost is an important factor, however, there are many other factors to consider as well. Paying more for a quality wood fence upfront will almost always save you money in the long run in maintenance and repair fees. Our Wrought Iron Products are More Durable!
We use more expensive welding wire than most fence companies in College Station, when building wrought iron fences, gates, balconies, and railings. Our welding wire is more expensive because it has higher levels of silicon and manganese deoxidizers, which translates into better arc characteristics and stronger, longer-lasting welds.
Iron has a longer shelf life than wood, however, it can fail when a weld point weakens over time. To prevent this, aside from using better welding wire, we construct using heavier gauge iron.
